Good-bye, Twt!
"Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened. "
-Anatole France
Our sweet kitty Twt (Welsh, pronounced "Toot") left us forever yesterday.
As I watched Ana's inconsolable bawls simmer down to convulsive sobs only to begin the cycle again triggered by another memory, I focused on channeling Oggie's restiveness by helping him write a book about Twt hoping for a cathartic experience to help us through this loss.
I am sure the book will grow as our collective minds extract another sweet memory that we want to celebrate and record, and will be cherished and read as often as needed.

hug to ana and og and their mommy, and i bet twt will be happy about the book, wherever he is.
I'm so very sorry for the loss of dear Twt. It's hard enough for us as adults, but watching our children experience loss is especially brutal.
Thanks, Choxie. The book was written only hours after burying Twt, prompted by Og asking to hear again how Twt was born/brought home and Ana asking to narrate stories from his kittenhood, I think the book is heavy with our collective emotion...
So true, Megan, thank you for your kind words. Ana feels the loss the most and she used to snuggle with Twt at bedtime every night, going to sleep with his soft and gentle presence next to her for the last 4 years...
Sorry about Twt's loss.
Did Oggie do the drawings in the book? They are beyond delightful!!!
Thanks, TPL. No, Oggie is still working on fine motor skills - these were just pencil sketches I made based on Oggie's suggestions.
